Exchange Policy

How exchanges are handled when something goes wrong with an order on The Plug Corner.

Last updated: 30 June 2026

At The Plug Corner, we are committed to ensuring buyers receive the products they ordered. While exchanges are not offered as a standard customer option, they may be provided where they are the most appropriate resolution to an issue with an order.

As an online marketplace, products are sold by independent sellers. Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the products they supply accurately match their listings, are fit for purpose, and are delivered in the condition advertised.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.

1. When an exchange may be available

An exchange may be offered where:

  • The incorrect product was supplied.
  • The product arrived damaged.
  • The product is defective.
  • The product materially differs from its description.
  • The seller agrees that replacing the product is the most appropriate resolution.

Each request will be assessed on its individual merits.

2. Requesting an exchange

If you believe your order qualifies for an exchange, please contact The Plug Corner through our Help Centre as soon as reasonably possible after receiving your order.

To assist with the investigation, you may be asked to provide:

  • Your order number.
  • A description of the issue.
  • Photographs or videos of the product.
  • Photographs of the packaging, where relevant.
  • Any additional information reasonably required to assess the request.

Providing complete and accurate information will help us resolve your request more efficiently.

3. Exchange approval

Exchange requests are reviewed by The Plug Corner in consultation with the seller.

Approval is subject to:

  • Verification of the reported issue.
  • Compliance with this policy.
  • Availability of replacement stock.

The Plug Corner reserves the right to request additional information before making a decision.

4. Replacement products

Where an exchange is approved:

  • The seller will provide a replacement product where stock is available.
  • If replacement stock is unavailable, the buyer may instead be offered a refund in accordance with our Refund Policy or another mutually agreed resolution.

5. Return shipping

Where an exchange is approved because the seller supplied an incorrect, damaged or defective product:

  • The seller is responsible for arranging the return or collection of the original product where required.
  • The seller is responsible for the reasonable cost of return shipping.
  • Buyers will not be required to pay return shipping costs where the seller is responsible for the issue.

6. Digital products

Due to the nature of digital products, including activation codes, vouchers, subscriptions and downloadable content, exchanges are generally not available once the product has been successfully delivered.

Where a digital product is found to be invalid, duplicated or incorrect due to an error attributable to the seller, the seller may provide a replacement code or another appropriate resolution.

7. Exclusions

Exchanges will generally not be available where:

  • The buyer changes their mind after placing an order.
  • The product has been damaged through misuse, negligence or improper handling after delivery.
  • The product matches the seller's description and specifications.
  • The request is fraudulent or misleading.
  • The request does not meet the requirements of this policy or applicable law.

8. Consumer rights

Nothing in this Exchange Policy limits, excludes or replaces any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation.

9. Contact us
